RE: COVID-19 (coronavirus) and Club response

CFC Parents,

The New Mexico Youth Soccer Association (NMYSA) has been in daily contact with our National governing bodies, the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and US Youth Soccer (USYS) concerning restrictions, cancellations, and best practices going forward in regard to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The Las Cruces Youth Soccer Association (LCYSA) will follow what the governing bodies recommend, and as you may have already noticed, per NMYSA direction the LCYSA has suspended all league games indefinitely (as have other organizations in New Mexico).

Effective immediately, the Cruces FC (CFC) board has asked our coaches to suspend all team training sessions indefinitely. We as a club share the same concerns of our governing bodies for the safety of our players, parents, coaches, and community and will follow guidelines and instruction as provided as our community goes through addressing this changing landscape over the coming days and weeks.

CFC will continue to evaluate the situation as it develops and will provide more guidance as warranted.  We know there are, and will be, a lot of questions and the LCYSA is working to provide information and direction as we work through this process.  Your CFC board will also provide information as it comes up.

Below are recommendations from the USSF.

-       Avoid toughing your eyes, nose or mouth.

-       STAY home when you are sick.

-       Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue then throw away the tissue in the trash.

-       Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

-       Follow the CDC’s recommendation for use of a facemask.

-       The CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including Coronavirus.  Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms to help prevent the spread of the disease.

-       Wash your hands often with soap and water for a least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

-       If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.  Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

E Licence Course

Attached is a flyer for the E License Course in Las Cruces.

The $100 fee includes the $25 that covers the fee charged by US Soccer.  The NMYSA fee is $75.

Hopefully, the flyer explains the details of what coaches need to do to get registered.  Participants will have had to have completed the F course in the Digital Coaching Center (DCC) prior to registering for the E course.  Anyone who has already completed the F course may register for the E course.

The E course shows up in the 'available courses’ in the DCC (HERE).  You can see it without logging on & click the button on the right to get more information - but you can not complete registration unless you have completed the F course and then log in to the DCC.
