NMYSA To Host Training In Cruces This Weekend
Post date: Sep 7, 2013 3:44:25 PM
Hello New Mexico Soccer Players and Parents,
Sunday, September 8th is the start of NMYSA's Training & Identification Opportunites (TIOs) which will be held in Farmingtonand Las Cruces. Please see the link to the calendar below for detailed information about the TIO sessions. In order to participate in a TIO you MUST register prior to attending.
Register for a TIO: https://active.leagueone.com/Olr/Pages/Welcome.aspx?ClubId=12826
TIO Calendar page: http://www.nmysa.net/LeftNav/odp/TIO_Calendar.htm
TIOs are the first step in the ODP and YOP selection process. They are free training session for players to receive instruction from ODP head, assistant and staff coaches as well as a way to make the ODP or YOP pool for their appropriate age groups. At a TIO, players participate in training sessions and then play small- and/or full-sided games. During this process, the ODP coaches provide instruction, evaluate the players and recommend those they feel should be invited to join the ODP or YOP pool.
If you were on an ODP travel team from the most recent previous season (2012-13), you will automatically be invited back to the ODP training pool. In addition, you may also be invited to the ODP/YOP training pool without attending a TIO by a letter of recommendation from a NM ODP coach.
ODP and YOP training pool selections will be posted on our website in November. ODP = Olympic Development Program; for players born 1997 through 2001. YOP = Young Olympian Program; for players born 2002 and 2003.
If you have any questions or concerns please check out our website at www.nmya.net and look under the ODP section or email me.
Thanks,
Erin Ingersoll
